Who Won The Best Makeup Oscars 2019

Anne Morgan, Kazu Hiro, Vivian Baker, 2019 winners

The Academy Award for All-time Makeup and Hairstyling is the Oscar given to the all-time achievement in makeup and hair-styling for moving picture. Ordinarily, only three films are nominated each yr rather than five as in about categories. The exception is in the early 1980s, when in that location were only two nominees; and in 1999, when there were four nominees.

The competitive category was created in 1981 as the University Honour for All-time Makeup, after the University received complaints that the make-upward work in The Elephant Homo (1980) was non going to be honored. No honour was given to The Elephant Man however, but an entire category dedicated to honoring make-upwardly effects in movie was created for subsequent ceremonies. Previously, brand-up artists were only eligible for special achievement awards for their piece of work.

In 2012, the category was renamed to its current proper noun for apply in the 85th Academy Awards and onward, it was previously called Best Makeup.
